Stanford University Asian American Awards honor students, faculty, staff and alumnus

Outstanding students, faculty, staff and an alumnus were honored at the Stanford Asian American Awards 2004 dinner and program on May 5 at the Frances C. Arrillaga Alumni Center. Among those who were presented awards are:

Herb Fong, grounds manager for Facilities Operations; Carmen Miraflor, programs manager for the Center for Integrated Systems; Sanjiva Lele, professor of aeronautics and astronautics and of mechanical engineering; David Palumbo-Liu, professor of comparative literature; Zijie Sun, assistant professor of surgery and of genetics; alumnus Robert Ching Wo, '46, the founder of Universal Furniture and a pioneer in opening the doors of private clubs in Hawaii to Chinese Americans; graduate student Lisa Wong; and undergraduates Sarah Ihn, Bryan Kim, Jordan Lee, Sai Patil and Ricky Wang. The Asian American Activities Center Advisory Board and the Stanford Asian Pacific American Alumni Club sponsoed the annual dinner and awards.
