President George W. Bush April 8 announced his intention to nominate Benjamin H. Wu, of Maryland, to be Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Technology Policy. Mr. Wu currently serves as Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce for Technology. He was sworn in that position November 6, 2001. Previously, he served as Counsel for the U.S. House Committee on Science's Technology Subcommittee and as Counsel for the U.S. House Committee on Science's Investigations and Oversight Subcommittee. Mr. Wu earned his bachelor's degree from New York University in 1985 and his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1988.
