Phin Suy won a $128 million jackpot in New York


Phin Suy, a gardener for the Central Park Conservancy, is the sole winner of a $128 million Mega Millions New York Lottery jackpot. The jackpot is the largest for a sole ticket-holder. Mr. Suy chose to receive a lump sum of $47,088,067 after taxes. Reported Diane Cardwell, Mr. Suy called sick on February 10 to take his wife, Sineth, to the doctor, and after several erands, he bought five $1 Quick Pick tickets for a chance at winning $128 million. (The New York Times, Feb. 20, 2003). Chinese media reported that Mr. Suy, 32, is Chinese who immigrated to the States from Cambodia.
