Julie Chen joins a new anchor team of CBS moring program


CBS announced a new anchor team of four in its morning program, "The Early Show." The team consists of Julie Chen, Harry Smith, Hannah Storm, and Rene Syler. CBS morning program trails ABC and NBC. NBC's "Today" show is watched by more than 6 million and earns more than $250 million a year. ABC's "Good Morning America," is watched by 4.6 million and earns more than $100 million. "Early show" of CBS is watched by 3.6 million and CBS earns more than $40 million and CBS earns 40 million. The new anchor team is intended to compete with both ABC and NBC. Highly praised Julie Chen, Michael Bass, the "Early Show" producer, "she rings a very different perspective - she's younger, hipper ... she relates to a much younger audience."
