King-lui Wu, formerly professor of architecture at Yale University was dead on August 15, 2002 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Professor Liu, born in Guangzhou, China, graduated from Harvard University with B.A. and Master's degrees. He taught at Yale from 1945 to 1988. "The way one lit a building was that one flipped a switch. He emphasized that buildings needed to breathe and that natural light brought them to life ... one of the great threads of the school," said Robert A.M. Stern, his former student now the dean of the school. Professor is survived by his wife, Vivian Wei-Chu Wu and two daughters and a son.
